Shahyd Legacy leaves 2ofus over fraud allegations

Famous Maldivian band 2ofus's guitarist Ahmed Shaheed (Shahyd Legacy) has left the band today due to allegations of fraud.

As per a statement released by Shaheed regarding him leaving the band, he came to a decision after days of deliberation and that it was a difficult decision.

The statement reads that he left the band as he had no other choice and that it was important to him that supporters and fans are aware of the issues in the Maldivian music community.

As per Shaheed, the main reason he left 2ofus is because of a lack of financial transparency. He also said that he cannot stay on any longer as he was not being compensated as per his agreement.

"What began as something genuinely positive and full of promise unfortunately turned into a bitter journey marked by ongoing negativity. This did not come easily, but it became necessary over time due to several fundamental issues that could no longer be ignored," said Shaheed.

Shaheed stated that there was no space for growth financially and professionally. He also said that mutual respect had been fading.

Shaheed said that with all those difficulties, he was grateful to have partaken in the Indian reality show "Battle of Bands International".

He also said that he is proud of his hard work and the success the band has gotten and is something he will always cherish.

"I wish the remaining members nothing but the best in their future endeavors. As for me, I move forward with clarity, self-respect and renewed focus on music that truly represents who I am as an artist," said Shaheed.

While Shaheed has left 2ofus, their lead vocalist Mohamed Nasooh bin Nasruddin had left the band in the middle of 2025. While he did not state his reason for leaving, it was being said that he had also left due to issues regarding a lack of respect.

2ofus became famous with their opportunity to compete in the Indian reality show "Battle of Bands International", with them winning third. With that fame, the band has been playing shows in Male', various islands and internationally as well.

There were five members when the band was created. They were Shaheed, Nasooh, vocalist Ahmed Adhuham, Abdulla Shamrooh and Ahmed Jasheen.
