"2OfUs" reaches grand finale of Battle of Bands International

Maldivian band "2OfUs" has secured a spot in the grand finale of the Battle of Bands International, held in India.

In a statement following the announcement, the band hailed the achievement as a proud moment for all Maldivians and local artists aspiring to shine on an international stage.

“This milestone is more than a personal achievement—it's a collective victory for the people of the Maldives, and for every artist who has dared to dream from our shores. From a humble island journey to the global spotlight,” the band said.

“What we carry is not just our talent, but the heartbeat of our people. We came here with the voice of a nation behind us, and that voice now echoes in every corner of this international stage,” said Ahmed Adhuham, lead vocalist and guitarist. ”

The band impressed both judges and audiences with a dynamic performances that included their original tracks, Maldivian music, and diverse genres. Their performances were met with enthusiasm throughout the competition.

2OfUs expressed deep gratitude for the overwhelming support from fans and the Maldivian community, emphasizing that this recognition proves Maldivian music has a place on the global stage.

'Battle of Bands' is a music competition broadcast by Indian State TV Doordarshan. While the last three years of the show featured only Indian bands, this year's show welcomed foreign bands to perform, with 2ofUs representing Maldives.

Besides Adhuham and Nasooh, the band also has Abdulla Shamrooh on the drums and Ahmed Jasheem and popular guitarist Ahmed Shaheed (Shaheed Legacy).

This year's competition has bands from Mauritius, Tajikistan, Afghanistan, Singapore, Russia, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Spain and the UK competing in the show.
