Maldives Film Association (MFA), on Sunday, signed an agreement with A Business Concept (ABC) Limited to arrange the Film Awards.
Chairperson Abdulla Shivaz signed the agreement on behalf of MFA while ABC's Managing Director Mariyam Suhana represented the company.
MFA has yet to confirm an exact date for the fourth edition of the awards, which is being held after a six-year hiatus.
Shivaz revealed that MFA was aiming to host the awards on April 16 and expressed hopes that the function would be exemplary.
Although the last MFA awards were hosted in 2014, the association attempted to conduct a ceremony in 2016 as well.
However, the awards were cancelled following several delays.
At present, the only other award show conducted for Maldivian cinema is the Dhivehi Film Award, organised by the National Centre for the Arts (NCA).
