Special ceremony to certify Huffaz to be held on the eve of Ramadan 27

A special ceremony to present certificates to Huffaz is to be held this Ramadan, the Ministry of Islamic Affairs has decided.

Huffaz (plural for Hafiz) are persons who have memorized the entire Quran.

Previously, the crowns for Huffaz were presented at the closing ceremonies of the National Quran Competitions, National Day or Republic Day celebrations. However, this time, the ministry has decided to hold a dedicated ceremony for the occasion, in accordance with Islamic Minister Dr Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed's pledge last year.

In a message to media today, the Minister said that this first special ceremony to present certificates to those who have completed Hifz will be held on the eve of Ramadan 27 this year.

This year, 20 to 25 Huffaz will be presented with the certificate of completion, he said.
