Police are investigating a case involving a female teacher accused of grooming a grade 8 student.

The case was reported on the 21st of last month.

It is unknown whether any action has been taken against the teacher, as the Ministry of Education has not provided a comment on the matter.

Grooming involves establishing an emotional bond with a vulnerable person, often by offering material or financial incentives, to manipulate them into a position of sexual exploitation.

The incident reportedly occurred on a southern island, but police have not revealed specific details to protect the child’s identity, as disclosing such information is prohibited by law.

Last year, another teacher was arrested on similar charges but later released. However, police have forwarded the case to the Prosecutor General’s Office for prosecution.
