A Maldivian man has died in an accident that occurred at Velana International Airport today where a luggage carrier vehicle collided with a lamp post.
A Maldivian man has died in an accident that occurred at Velana International Airport today where a luggage carrier vehicle collided with a lamp post.
Police said that the luggage carrier was being driven on the apron when it hit a lamp and camera post.
The accident occurred at 09:30 hrs this morning.
A 45 year old who was driving the vehicle was injured in the accident and was initially taken to the airport clinic. After that, he was transferred to Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital.
However, he was pronounced dead on arrival by the hospital.
Police said that no external injuries were found on him when observed at the hospital.
Police are further investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.
