President's Office has announced applications for membership in the Elections Commission (EC) will soon be open.
Interested persons can send in their applications before 12.30 hrs on January 30. The Office will be accepting applications between 8.30hrs and 12.30hrs of January 29 and 30.
Application forms are available on the official website of the President's Office.
The vacancy in EC membership has come about due to the term of the commission's Vice President Ismail Habeeb ending in March this year. Habeeb is currently serving his second term as a member of the commission.
The term of membership in the commission is five years long. New members will be appointed by the Parliament after considering the names submitted to them by the President.
Applicants to the post should possess necessary qualifications, and should not be a member of any political party.
