Various areas of Hulhumale' experienced powercuts last night due to damage caused to a high voltage cable in the ongoing work on Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation flats, STELCO has said.
Hiyaa Flat Towers 9 to 16, MPL flats and areas in Hulhumale' Phase 1 had a power outage last night from 23:00 hrs. Electricity was restored around 00:15 hrs.
STELCO said that they had restored electricity through energizing three transformers in Hulhumale' Phase 1.

In a social media post, STELCO said that this had been caused due to damage to a high voltage cable.
STELCO called on those working in areas where the electricity network is laid to exercise caution in their work to avoid damaging cables and causing powercuts and inconvenience to the public.
