HDC concludes seventh apprenticeship program

This marks the seventh apprenticeship program conducted by HDC. A total of 49 participants completed this year’s program and were awarded National Level 3 certificates, which are recognized by the Maldives Qualifications Authority (MQA).

The Apprenticeship Program 2024 conducted by Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has been successfully completed.

Participants received their certificates at a ceremony held at Swack Cinema in Hulhumale' yesterday morning. The event was inaugurated by Higher Education Minister Dr Ali Haider Ahmed.

This marks the seventh apprenticeship program conducted by HDC. A total of 49 participants completed this year’s program and were awarded National Level 3 certificates, which are recognized by the Maldives Qualifications Authority (MQA).

The six-month program, which included a monthly stipend, provided training in six key areas:

- Gardening

- Computer hardware and networking

- Front office services

- Health and safety in construction

- Electrical installation and maintenance

- Construction site supervision

The program was conducted under an MoU between HDC and the Ministry of Youth, with Maldives Institute of Technology (MIT) serving as the training institute.

HDC aims to help young people enter the workforce by guiding them in career selection, providing job training, and equipping them with nationally recognized certificates. The corporation also emphasized its commitment to training Maldivians for jobs currently occupied by expatriates in the local labor market.

HDC reaffirmed its full support for the government’s youth training efforts, stating that the company is actively working to develop a skilled youth workforce and create more opportunities for young Maldivians across various fields.
