A Syrian woman and a Jordanian man who were conducting business while on tourist visas have been ordered to be deported.
Maldives Immigration in a post on X today said that they investigated the case following a report received by the authority.
Immigration has detained a 19-year-old Syrian woman and a 24-year-old Jordanian man. The authority has not yet disclosed when they entered Maldives.
However, Immigration stated that these two individuals were found violating their tourist visa conditions by engaging in business activities in the Maldives.
Immigration announced they are working on their deportation and requested the public to report cases of foreigners illegally staying in Maldives.
Last month, Immigration also detained a Chinese tourist who had entered on a tourist visa and was found conducting business in Male' while sleeping in public places.
Immigration has previously stated that they will take strict action against visa violations.
Immigration is currently working extensively to prevent illegal immigrants in Maldives. Through their operations, they have detained numerous foreigners and deported more than 5,000 people.
