The 12th edition of the Maldives Islamic Bank (MIB) Inter-Office Billiards Tournament, title-sponsored by MIB, has officially begun.
A total of 13 offices are participating in this year’s tournament. The singles division matches were scheduled for today, featuring 27 players in the men's first division, 83 players in the second division, and 17 players in the women’s division.
The singles event follows a single-elimination knockout format, with the finals for the singles division taking place tonight at 8:30 p.m.
The team event is set to begin on February 12, with the final match scheduled for February 20.
Participating teams include Customs, MNDF, the President's Office, BML, MACL, Police Club, STELCO, MWSC, TMA, MPL, STO, and Dhiraagu.
Last year’s tournament saw MPL's Mohamed Dhunyaz win the men's singles first division title, while Shifau Abdulla from MIB secured the men's second division title.
Aminath Haleem from Customs claimed victory in the women's singles event. MPL won the men's team event, while Customs emerged victorious in the women's team category.
