President Dr Mohamed Muizzu today thanked everyone who donated towards the renovation of Aa Sahara Mosque.

President Muizzu officially re-opened the mosque and attached funeral home after renovations ahead of Friday prayers today. Speaking with press after the prayers, the president said the mosque was reopened with all planned upgrades.

"Very happy that it has been realised. Families will be able to stay comfortably during the most difficult times," President Muizzu said.

The project to expand the mosque and upgrade its facilities commenced during President Muizzu's tenure as Mayor of Malé City, back in June last year. President Muizzu thanked current Mayor Adam Azim for continuing the project after he took over the reigns.

He also highlighted the donations of numerous people and thanked everyone for their assistance.

After the renovations, both the mosque and funeral home have been expanded, equipped with a larger seating area for visitors on the first floor of the building.

Washrooms reserved for people with special needs and a general use washroom has also been added to the funeral home.
