President Dr Mohamed Muizzu and First Lady Sajidha Mohamed have departed for the United Kingdom last evening on an unofficial visit.
According to the President's Office, President Muizzu will personally cover all expenses related to the trip, including those associated with administrative duties, as well as family and personal matters.
The president departed for the UK after ratifying a constitutional amendment passed by Parliament yesterday, stipulating that members of Parliament will lose their seat if they change their political party or are expelled from the party during the same term.
