MVR 7.6 million paid as Fitr Zakat in first 20 days of Ramadan

Ministry of Islamic Affairs has said that MVR 7.6 million has been received in Zakat payments during the first 20 days of this Ramadan.

Statistics shared by the Zakat House shows that Fitr Zakat paid both online and in person comes up to MVR 7,623,214.

This is a marked increase compared to the same period in previous years.

During the last third of Ramadan, Zakat payments in person will be received every day except weekends from 11am to 2pm.

Other ways of paying Fitr Zakat:

- Dhiraagu: Dhiraagu App and Dhiraagu Pay (via website or sms)

- Ooredoo: mFaisaa (via application or sms)

- MIB: Faisa mobile (via app or Faisa Net)

- BML: BML Mobile (via app or website)

- FahiPay: (via app or website)

- Finance Ministry (via Bandeyri Pay, website or portal)

Zakat House said that in islands besides Male' City, the councils will make arrangements for Zakat to be received in cash.
