Ministry of Defence has released a circular stating that if any breaches to air transport policies are noticed by civilians, industry employees or travelers, the issue can be notified to the authorities through a platform established and released last week.
The State has introduced a special online platform that instantly reports a breach or violation of an aviation policy upon notice.
This platform introduced by the Directorate of Aviation Security Administration (DASA) under the Ministry of Defence is titled "Aviation Security Confidential Report System".
A circular released by the Ministry on Wednesday stated that a system to report any issues believed to affect aviation security negatively or any acts committed in violation of the regulations and guidelines in an airport or airplane has been established under efforts to ensure the security of Civil Air Transport.
The circular emphasized that if staff employed at air transport institutions, individuals traveling via air route as well as any civilians notice conduct that breaches a policy, they will be able to bring the matter to the attention of the Ministry through the assistance of this platform.
This circular has been issued to all Maldivian aviation related agencies last week.
Ministry of Defence assured that this platform is structured to anonymously report the issue in cases where that is preferred.
Moreover, the Ministry had further declared that the platform has gone live starting last Sunday and asserted that civilian usage of the system has now been facilitated as well.
