The Government of India donated medical equipment to The Senahiya Hospital of Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) on Monday.
The equipment was handed over to the Maldivian government by Indian Defence Secretary Ajay Kumar at a special ceremony held at the MNDF Headquarters. Defence Minister Mariya Ahmed Didi accepted the medical supplies on behalf of the Maldivian government.
MNDF said that India donated 2,800 kilograms of health facilities, including equipment used in the hospital during health emergencies.
Military doctors from India currently work in Senahiya as well
While the current administration has established close relations with India, the opposition states that Maldives is relying on India far too much and will eventually have to force consequences.
