The council has begun efforts to repair and clean mosques in Mae'a nd Hulhumale'.
The Council said that they have now replaced the minbar at Masjid-al-Azeeza Moosa in Hulhumale', which bore damage from termites. They are now cleaning and conducting repairs at Masjid-Al-Amaany, which was the first mosque built in Hulhumale'.
The council is also planting trees at Masjid Al Saany in Hulhumale'.
Bathroom doors and tiles have been replaced, and the ablution area repaired in Masjid-Al-Hahthaab, while the prayer area in Masjid-al-Taqwa has been expanded, with plans to build an extra bathroom there.
The council said that a private party has offered to install ACs at Furqan Mosque, which is also expected to be completed ahead of Ramadan.
In addition to refurbishment of mosques, the council is also working on removing pallets placed on streets in ways that will inconvenience pedestrians.
Ramadan this year is expected to start on March 1.
