Former Vice Chief of Defence Force Farhath Shaheer has today been appointed as Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company Limited (MIFCO).
Former Vice Chief of Defence Force Farhath Shaheer has today been appointed as Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company Limited (MIFCO).
The post of MIFCO CEO became vacant after recently appointed Dr Vitaliy Lyubimov was dismissed yesterday. He was the only foreigner to fill the post in the company's history.
Privatization and Corporatization Board (PCB) yesterday announced his dismissal, but did not disclose any further details regarding the dismissal.
Today, PCB announced that Farhath Shaheer will be replacing him.
Farhath was the Vice Chief of Defence Force during the administration of former President Mohamed Nasheed. He retired from MNDF service in 2012.
Later, during former President Abdulla Yameen's administration, Farhath served as CEO of Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital. During his tenure, he brought major changes to the hospital's operations.
