Ameer Ahmed School was established on July 14, 1984, under the leadership of Ahmed Aslam to provide high-quality educational services for preschoolers. Initially named Henveiru School, it offered educational services from baby nursery through Grade 10. In 1992, the school was renamed Ameer Ahmed School in tribute to Al Ameer Ahmed Dhoshimeynaa Kilegefaanu, the first head of Maldives Customs.

Islanders Education took over the management of Ameer Ahmed School in 2014. Following this transition, the school was remodeled into a preschool education facility, now offering schooling for children between the ages of three and six years.

The school, designed to provide foundational education essential for young children, operates as a community preschool and charges the lowest fees for its services.

To hone the talents of their young students, Ameer Ahmed School runs a special program named "Bees," which aims to develop social and life skills. Additionally, the school offers a Pre-cub program and a Stars program. Ameer Ahmed School was the first preschool to introduce band activities and continues to offer these services to its students.
