A man has been arrested in Haa Alifu atoll Hoarafushi on allegations of practicing sorcery.
According to police, Mohamed Abdul Kareem, 34, from Vaavu atoll Keyodhoo, Thiburoazuge, was taken into custody on Wednesday following an operation led after an intelligence tip off.
He was later produced before the court and has been remanded in custody for seven days.
Mohamed, who resides in Male', is reportedly known for practising Rugya on a wide scale.
