Police have said today that under their road safety operations, they inspected 73,953 vehicles last year, and took action against 7,606 for various offences.

Police's statistics show that Police advised 66,347 persons for traffic violations last year, with action taken against 7,606.
Licenses were held in 2,138 cases, which include 2,005 two wheeled vehicles and 133 four wheeled vehicles.
Police further said that 2024 brought 293 cases of dangerous driving, of which 271 involved two wheeled vehicles, and the remaining 22 involved four wheeled vehicles.
A total of 15,514 vehicles were towed. These were 11,645 motorcycles, 2,567 cars, 478 pickups, 369 vans and 87 trucks.
Of these, 13,562 were later released to their owners, and 546 destroyed.
With dangerous accidents being a major concern, many measures were taken using multiple facilities and resources to ensure road safety, Police said.
