A fire in Male' City this morning damaged the main water pipe serving two residences.
No injuries were reported in the incident.
The fire occurred in front of She Building, at Maafannu House Plaza, a residence that has been unused for many years and has become a hotspot for drug users. There have been previous fire incidents at the same location.
National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) said that the fire caused damage to the main water pipeline of two residences.

Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) said that they received reports of the fire at 6:35 am. The flames were extinguished within an hour.
According to MNDF, the fire started from garbage inside the building.
