MMPRC has announced a landmark designing competition for Maldivians.

The company said that the landmarks will be placed at Velana International Airport, Male', underwater, and in various islands.

MMPRC said that the purpose of holding this competition is to display the beauty of Maldives, the many experiences offered in tourism and Maldivians' creativity.

Maldivians over the age of 18 can participate in the competition. MMPRC said that the landmarks can represent different islands, heritage, culture, and natural beauty.

The best ten designs will be selected through evaluation from a panel of judges and public votes.

The top scorer will receive a prize of MVR 20,000 and sponsor's gift pack. The top ten designs will be used in MMPRC marketing activities with credit given to the creators.

The landmarks must be built at a height of 20 feet with the use of renewable resources. The judging panel will look for creativity, safety, visual appeal and durability.

Interested persons must send in applications via email to [email protected] before November 30.

Each contestant can submit one design. The submitted artwork must be in CAD and PDF format with clear dimensions marked.

A visual representation of where the landmark is designed to be placed (optional), a completed application form, and a copy of a valid ID card must be submitted.
