In relation to this case, Police arrested Hassan Isaam, 30, of Fiyabari, ViliMale' yesterday afternoon.
Videos circulating on social media show that the woman had been driving down the road when a motorist rode up from behind and snatched her necklace. The video shows that this left the woman in shock. She dropped her motorcycle and runs away to get away from the assailant.
The man had been wearing a helmet to conceal his identity.
The video shows that after snatching the necklace, the man stops his motorcycle and runs towards the woman. This time, he appears to be trying to snatch the woman's handbag.
With crowds gathering in the area, the man left the woman and fled on his motorcycle.
Police said that the man has now been arrested. His motorcycle has also been seized for purposes of the investigation.
