Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan and his family arrived in the Maldives on Tuesday, presumably to celebrate Big B’s 75th birthday which falls this Wednesday.
The megastar is accompanied by his wife, Jaya Bachchan, children Abhishek Bachchan and Shweta Nanda, daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai, and grandchildren Aaradhya Bachchan and Navya Naveli Nanda.
While Amitabh Bachchan had celebrated his 70th birthday in 2012 with a grand party, he wrote on his blog that he does not plan to celebrate his 75th, adding that he will not be in the city on the big day.
Some Indian media reports cited a close friend of the Bachchan clan, who said that the Maldives became a favourite holiday getaway for the famous family after they celebrated Abhishek’s 40th birthday in the archipelago.
According to the source, they will be vacationing at the same island resort this time as well, while Abhishek also plans to throw a yacht party for the whole family.
Photographs of the Bachchan clan spotted at Kaling airport in Mumbai on Tuesday are circulating on social media and Indian news websites.
