Bank of Maldives Ltd (BML) announced that the "WoW Kidz Run", organised in partnership with Total Fitness Group (TFG), will be held April 27 in the reclaimed suburb of Hulhumale’.
The main bank of Maldives opened 1,000 slots for children interested in participating the annual, which was launched in 2016. This year introduces the new age category of 10-13 years, in addition to the usual line-up of 4-6 years, 6-8 years, and 8-10 years.
According to the bank, those who register for the run can also help raise funds for 'Beat Bullying', the nation-wide programme being conducted jointly by BML and Advocating the Rights of Children (ARC) to raise public awareness on bullying.
"The main objective of this run is to emphasize the importance of staying active and healthy, and to encourage children and parents to adopt such lifestyles. We have also opened an online portal to raise funds for the 'Beat Bullying' programme we're conducting with ARC to raise awareness to stop bullying", said an official of BML.
This is the fourth year BML is organising the Wow Kidz Run. The bank has conducted a number of other events under its Corporate Social Responsibility programme, such as the ‘BML Staff Charity Run’ held last February, which raised and donated MVR 80,000 to Maldives Thalassemia Society.
