Vakkaru Maldives awarded 'Favourite Romantic Getaway'

Vakkaru Maldives was named Favourite Romantic Getaway in the category of International Hotels and Resorts at the annual gala ceremony for the Condé Nast Traveller Middle East Readers' Choice Awards held in Dubai, on February 27.

The title was bestowed to the resort following a readers vote that took place in the last quarter of 2018.

The Readers’ Choice Awards, recognized globally as a benchmark for excellence in travel and tourism, was launched simultaneously with the magazine. In the Middle-East, it is also known as GCC's premier travel industry awards.

“We are honored to receive this noteworthy accolade as it reaffirms the resort's dedication to creating exceptional stay experiences for couples and honeymooners,” said Nicholas Mason, General Manager of Vakkaru.

“We want to thank our team who strive to maintain the level of excellence to ensure guest’s satisfaction, also to our guests and partners who have supported Vakkaru Maldives in achieving this award.”

Vakkaru Maldives is a resort in the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, Baa Atoll, and is accessible by a 45-minute seaplane flight from Velana International Airport.

The resort consists of 125 villas and features four restaurants, specialising in global cuisine with a Maldivian twist, Italian, Japanese, Southeast Asian as well as luxury beach grill.

Vakkaru Maldives opened in December 2017 and has been creating luxury experiences for travellers seeking an intimate getaway.
