Telecom giant Ooredoo Maldives, on Sunday, signed as the title sponsor of the upcoming National HR Convention and EXPO which will be hosted by the Maldives Association of Human Resource Professionals (MAHRP).
The partnership was cemented in an event held at Ooredoo's head office while several key members of both the telecommunications company and MAHRP were in attendance.
The high profile gathering included Ooredoo Maldives' Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Najib Khan, MAHRP President Hussain Afeef, MAHRP Executive Secretary Ali Adam, Director of Human Resources at Ooredoo Mohamed Shahid as well as Director of Sales and Brand at Ooredoo Hussain Niyaz.
During his address at the function, CEO Najib Khan remarked on the increasing importance of the strategic use of human resources in business and stated that events such as the upcoming convention would be crucial in setting new benchmarks for the HR network in Maldives.
"We are honoured to be part of this excellent platform and hope it will provide an enriching experience for participating HR professionals.", stated Khan.
MAHRP president Afeef expressed enthusiasm at the opportunity to collaborate with Ooredoo.
"We believe this partnership will add value to MAHRP and its members.” said Afeef, who also serves as the Regional Director of Training, Development and Quality Assurance at LUX* Resorts.
Afeef explained that Ooredoo's top-notch HR practices and reputation as one of the best employers in Maldives was factored in prior to confirming the decision to partner up.
The National HR Convention and Expo 2019 will provide a platform to respected HR practitioners from Maldives and the wider Asian region, to feature the latest innovations, strategies, insights and best practices.
The National HR Convention & EXPO will be held at Dharubaaruge Convention Centre on March 4 - 5.
The Convention will be based on the theme, 'Future of HR and Work' and will focus on the following key aspects:
- Talent Development and Culture
- Employee Wellness and Engagement
- Innovation and Digitalisation in HR Practices
- HR as a Business Partner and Future of Work.
Established in February 2018, MAHRP is the first professional association registered in Maldives which is dedicated to the development of human capital.
