Qatar Airways to fly in Bollywood star Aishwarya Rai Bachchan for Qatar Show

Qatar Airways announced on Monday that it will bring internationally-renowned Bollywood superstar Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to Doha, to inaugurate the Qatar Show 2019, showcasing gemstones, jewellery collections and watches.

As the Official Airline Partner of the show, Qatar Airways will also fly in other international celebrities and style influencers to take part in the event, including Chinese jewellery designer Beau Han Xu and fashion designer Grace Chen.

The Qatar Show 2019, taking place from February 20-25 at the Doha Exhibition and Conference Centre, will consist of more than 400 international luxury jewellery brands and a range of classic and contemporary collections from international and local designers.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who made her acting debut in 1997 and has featured in more than 40 films in five languages, is one of India’s most popular and influential actresses. She was the first Indian actress to represent her country as a jury member at the Cannes Film Festival in 2003. She was honoured with the Padma Shri by the Indian government in 2009, and Ordre des Arts des Lettres by the government of France in 2012.

Beau Han Xu is an internationally-renowned artist, gemologist and award-winning jewellery designer, while Grace Chen is regarded as one of China’s most influential fashion innovators.

A multiple-award winning airline, Qatar Airways was named ‘World’s Best Business Class’ by the 2018 World Airline Awards. It was also named ’Best Business Class Seat’, ‘Best Airline in the Middle East’, and ‘World’s Best First Class Airline Lounge’.

Qatar Airways currently operates a modern fleet of more than 230 aircraft via Hamad International Airport (HIA) to more than 160 destinations worldwide. The airline launched several new destinations recently, including Gothenburg Sweden Mombasa, Kenya and Da Nang, Vietnam.

Qatar Airways is set to add a number of new destinations to its extensive route network in 2019.
