Mohamed Rasheed, on Tuesday, has been appointed as chairman of State Electric Company Ltd (STELCO).
Previously, Mohamed Rasheed had fulfilled the positions of Chief Executive Officer and Deputy Managing Director at STELCO.
Starting out as an engineer, Rasheed has worked in STELCO for 15 years.
President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih brought several changes to STELCO's board since inauguration. In particular, the appointment of Hassan Mughnee as Managing Director.
Hassan Mugnee formerly executed the role of Managing Director during the tenure of former President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom. Presumably, Hassan Mughnee was endorsed by the Jumhooree Party (JP), which is part of the ruling coalition.
