State Trading Organization (STO), on Monday, decreased the prices of petrol and diesel by MVR 1.00 per litre and MVR 2.00 per litre respectively.

Changes to local petrol-diesel rates:
- Petrol decreased from MVR 11.19 to MVR 10.19 per litre.
- Diesel decreased from MVR 11.99 to MVR 9.99 per litre.
STO attributed the first change in petrol and diesel rates of 2019 to similar price cuts in the world fuel market.
Fuel prices were last shifted on November 13 when the cost of petrol and diesel was cut by 20 laari (MVR 0.20) and 10 laari (MVR 0.10) respectively.
