BML profit at MVR269 million in third quarter

Bank of Maldives (BML) on Friday stated that it made a profit of MVR 269.3 million in the third quarter of this year.

According to the quarterly review published by the bank, the profit prior to the deduction of tax was MVR 360.8 million, a 10 percent increase compared to the second quarter of 2018 and an 11 percent increase compared to the third quarter of 2017.

Total revenue for the third quarter was MVR 609.6 million, compared to MVR 600.9 million made in the second quarter.

In addition, operational profit is 9 percent higher than the third quarter of 2017.

The level of assets and the liquidity ratio are also higher than the minimum set by the law.

Chief Executive Director of BML, Andrew Healy, stated that the financial performance in the third quarter was an achievement.

BML has established POS systems, self service banking outlets, ATM's, branches in 20 atolls and an internet banking service.

The bank used 30 percent of profit from 2017 to invest in social and technological innovation.
