AngelHack Maldives winner invited to international accelerator programme

The grand winner of the Maldivian leg of AngelHack, the world's largest hackathon with over 150,000 developers across more than 150 cities, has been invited to join an international accelerator programme.

Organized by local telecom giant Dhiraagu and Sparkhub, AngelHack Maldives was hosted on July 21 and 22 at Hotel Jen in capital Male, featuring coding and marketing workshops. The event in Maldives started simultaneously with hackathons in four other countries.

The winning team of AngelHack Maldives is "Finwice", who has bagged the chance to join the AngelHack Accelerator programme, the ‘HACKcelerator’.

The members of Finwice stated that they had learned a lot from the hackathon, and expressed excitement to take part in the 12-week accelerator programme.

The winning team will receive the chance to pitch their startup demos to investors in San Francisco, USA.

Founded in 2011 in San Francisco, USA, AngelHack is a global organisation through which developers, designers and entrepreneurs can become holistic hackers through programmes that solve issues ranging from business to social impact. The hackathon is held in various cities every year, during which participants compete to built and launch new software solutions, with the winning team from each city invited to join the AngelHack Accelerator programme.
