World famous luxury property company Christie's International Real Estate has established an office in Maldives and has officially begun providing their services to the Maldivian market.

The company's main aim is to provide special services to international parties that want to purchase properties from top-class Maldivian resorts.

This expands options for foreign investors that want to purchase villas for vacation purposes that have the same quality of service and resources seen at five-star resorts.

The company's headquarters in Maldives will be based in Male', and arrangements have been made to establish site offices on the islands where their resort projects take place, which they will market and represent.

International experience

Christie's International Real Estate Maldives is a business that began on the founder and CEO of Orca Holding Laith Ghaith Pharaon's initiative, which is a company that manages popular hotels and resorts in the Asian, European and American continents.

The company's brokerage operations are managed by their Sales and Managing Director Marco Bonini. He has long-term experience in selling top-class and branded residences in Europe, the Middle East, the Americas and Asia, along with Maldives.

With that, Maldives has now been included in Christie's vast network, which has more than 125 independent brokerages in more than 50 countries and regions.

From tourism destinations to a center of investment

Even though Maldives is known to be the most popular tourist destination in the world, the company highlighted that Maldives is not only being seen as a vacation destination, it is also expanding as a real estate tourism market.

“For years, the Maldives was known as a place to visit, not necessarily a place to own real estate. That’s changing,” said Bonini.

Bonini pointed out that investors will always be assured of high average occupancy rates in Maldivian resorts and room prices holding at the same prices.

And so, he said this is a financially beneficial opportunity for those who go to Maldives multiple times a year and spend high rates on accommodation to buy their own villa and generate revenue by leasing it out under a professional rental program.

Projects Christie's will prioritize in selling during the first stage will be the island being developed in South Male' Atoll known as Gili, and island properties from Don Maaga Maldives, a resort that is set to open in May 2027, Nammos Resort Maldives, and Fusion Resort Maldives.

According to Marco Bonini, even though such properties in Maldives were traditionally being purchased by business men from European countries such as the United Kingdom, France, Germany and Italy, there is an increasing interest from Asian markets such as Singapore and Hong Kong.

Christie's International Real Estate is a company listed on the New York Stock Exchange and is being run under Compass International Holdings, with Christie's being a famous brand that has earned global trust in selling art and expensive world-class properties.
