An announcement has been issued seeking office space to run Immigration for the next five-year period.

According to an announcement made by the Finance Ministry, space ranging between 13,600 square feet and 14,000 square feet is required to operate Immigration.

To participate in the bidding, which is being conducted under the National Competitive Bidding principle, a fee of MVR 500 must be paid. Payment acceptance will continue until the 5th of next month.

A bid security of MVR 205,500 must be paid for this work. Bid submission will take place via the bidding portal on the 8th of next month.

Among individual offices, Immigration is currently one of the agencies that spends the most on running its offices.

Figures from the Finance Ministry show that MVR 8.3 million was spent last year to run two Immigration offices. That amounts to approximately MVR 692,000 every month.

Budget figures indicate that last year, 32 government agencies used space in 97 buildings to run offices by paying rent. Last year, MVR 185 million was spent on office rent.
