The construction industry in Maldives has seen 41 percent growth by July 2026 compared to July 2025.
Data from the National Bureau of Statistics shows that profit in Maldives' construction sector has gone up to MVR 539 million. This is a 9.7 percent increase compared to June 2026.
The construction industry has seen this much growth due to the substantial increase in sector activities.
The construction industry is the largest contributor to the economic growth in July.
The second biggest contributor is the financial sector. The third largest contributor to economic growth in July is real estate.
Even though there was total economic growth in July, the fisheries and tourism industries in July have fallen.
While there has been economic growth in July, Q2 2026 has seen a 12 percent drop in the Maldivian economy compared to Q1. As per Q2 statistics, Maldives' productivity is at MVR 25 billion. This is MVR 3.5 billion less than Q1 2026.
