The first event of the “I Am Maldives” roadshow, organised by the Maldives National Hotels Guest House Association (NHGAM), has been held in Moscow, Russia.
The roadshow, organized in collaboration with Visit Maldives and the Maldives Association for Travel Agents and Tour Operators (MATATO), will continue in St Petersburg on September 23 and Almaty, Kazakhstan, on September 25.
More than 50 representatives from 26 Maldivian tourism companies, including resorts, hotels, guesthouses, liveaboards and travel agencies, are participating in the roadshow.

More than 90 people, including tour operators, travel agents and tourism industry representatives, attended the Moscow event yesterday.
The event featured one-to-one networking meetings and presentations highlighting the Maldives as a tourism destination. Participants also presented accommodation options, tourism experiences and sustainable tourism initiatives available in the Maldives to the Russian market.
During the event, NHGAM president Abdulla Nasheed (Kaani Abdulla), launched the 2026-27 edition of the “I Am Maldives” magazine.
Speaking at the event, Abdulla said the Central Asian, eastern European and CIS markets were among the most important markets for Maldivian tourism.
He said the market had grown year on year, with 278,761 tourists from the region visiting the Maldives last year, an increase of 23.8 percent from the previous year.
NHGAM has previously held two roadshows under the “I Am Maldives” brand. Last year, the roadshow was held in Georgia, Azerbaijan, Romania, Poland and the Czech Republic, while events were held in Hong Kong and Malaysia earlier this year.
