Ooredoo has said that 48 teams are competing in the ongoing "Ooredoo Nation Atoll Esports League 2026".

Ooredoo stated that the tournament is open to the entirety of Maldives and was well received across various atolls. 48 teams from different islands are competing in the tournament.

Teams are split into six groups where they will play 75 matches to become the champion of the Ooredoo Nation Atoll Esports League.

Ooredoo said that the key purpose of the league is to give island representation an opportunity. 

The company described this tournament as a way to revive friendly competition and island pride through esports as competitors will receive the opportunity to represent the islands they are from.

This tournament is built on the success of the first Ooredoo Nation Atoll Esports League in 2025. Ooredoo Nation's aim with the second edition is for players across Maldives to participate in the tournaments that have been arranged for them, develop their skills and to further strengthen Maldives' gaming industry by providing valuable competitive experiences, said Ooredoo.

Tournament matches are being livestreamed on Ooredoo Nation's YouTube channel, giving supporters across Maldives the chance to cheer on their island teams wherever they may be.

The Atoll Esports League is an event from "Ooredoo Nation", a gaming and esports platform being managed by Ooredoo, to develop skilled Maldivians and to facilitate Maldivian gamers being able to go to high-level competitive grounds.
