The State Trading Organization (STO) has held the yearly "Dhekunu Foari" event for staff working at STO's southern branches.
Staff from L. Fonadhoo, Fuvahmulah, GDh. Thinadhoo, Hulhumeedhoo and Addu City took part in Dhekunu Foari 2026.
The six-day event saw sports activities that increased the spirit of friendliness and competitiveness among employees, along with a training program for staff being held as well.
Staff were split into five teams where volleyball, chess, badminton, table tennis and carrom tournaments were held. The best three teams from each tournament were chosen as well.
The training sessions that took place for staff in Dhekunu Foari 2026 covered first-aid training, fire awareness training, rules to have when communicating over the phone, team building exercises and training for protection against sexual harassment in the workplace.
The event was brought to a close with a dinner night. STO Managing Director Shimad Ibrahim and company senior officials took part in the dinner. The teams that won podium placements from the Dhekunu Foari activities were given prizes during the dinner as well.
STO said that the Dhekunu Foari event offers STO staff the opportunity to meet in one place, foster their relationship among one another, provide training to staff as one team and give the opportunity to improve their capabilities.
