Ophthalmologist Dr. Sofiya Makajoo has been employed by EyeCare Hospital and has begun working alongside their team of specialists.

Dr. Sofiya diagnoses and treats various diseases affecting the eye, along with having the technical training to conduct eye surgery. She has a Masters of Surgery (MS) in Ophthalmology from the Manipal College of Medical Sciences and completed the Fellowship in Anterior Segment from the Himalaya Eye Hospital in Pokhara, Nepal.

Dr. Sofiya has experience in subspecialty fields from the Tilganga Institute of Ophthalmology in Kathmandu. She has also completed practical training from specialized clinics and operation theaters at the Himalaya Eye Hospital.

Due to her first result in completing ophthalmology training, Dr. Sofiya was presented with the Dr. Ram Prasad Pokharel (Aankha Ba) NOS YO Best Resident Award 2025.

EyeCare stated that Dr. Sofiya offering her services to the hospital is a step forward in their efforts to provide the best eye treatment services to as many people as possible.
