"Team Enzi" has won the championship of the Ooredoo Mas Race held last Friday by Ooredoo Maldives in collaboration with the Ministry of Fisheries, Agriculture and Ocean Resources.
Enzi secured the championship of the tournament, which took place in K. Maafushi with 14 teams, with a total of 923 points. STELCO Men was selected as the second team with 606 points. Meanwhile, Avian achieved third place with 598 points.
A total of MVR 43,000 was offered for this year's tournament of the Mas Race, which Ooredoo conducts annually with substantial cash prizes. Ooredoo awarded a cash prize of MVR 25,000 to the champion team, MVR 10,000 to the second-place team, and MVR 5,000 to the third-place team.
In addition, the best female angler, Shaheeda Mohamed, and the best male angler, Ishaaq Mohamed, were each awarded MVR 1,000 along with a light casting combo setup presented by Ocean X. Furthermore, a cash prize of MVR 1,000 was also given to the participant who caught the heaviest fish.
Ooredoo Mas Race is an event conducted to revive the spirit of fishing among Maldivians, increase interest in it among the youth, and promote the spirit of unity. The company notes that whenever Ooredoo holds this tournament each year, it receives a warm response every time.
