In connection to the first time National Engineers' Day is being celebrated in Maldives, the State Trading Organization (STO) has introduced two engineering scholarships.

At the ceremony to celebrate Engineers' Day held by STO, the scholarship was officially inaugurated by Maldives National University (MNU) Chancellor Dr. Mahmood Shougee and STO Managing Director Shimad Ibrahim.

One of the scholarships is for Concrete Technology and the other is for Elevator Installation, said STO.

The Concrete Technology scholarship is an opportunity for those who are undergraduates in the engineering field. It is a one-year program which can be completed at a university abroad. 

STO said that the Elevator Installation scholarship is being offered as STO distributes products from world-famous elevator brand "KONE", it is meant to increase the number of Maldivians in the field. The scholarship opportunity was facilitated in collaboration with Kone Academy.
