Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) is currently implementing 800 projects and recruiting additional employees to meet the workforce requirements for these projects, CEO and Managing Director, Ahmed Saudee, said today.

Speaking to Mihaaru News, Saudee said 148 projects had been awarded to MTCC when the government took office in November 2023, but only 48 were under implementation at the time.

“But now we are running 800 projects,” Saudee said.

He said MTCC currently has about 2,700 permanent employees and a total workforce of about 5,000, with the remainder employed on various temporary contracts.

Saudee said the company's board has authorized a workforce of up to 7,500 employees, but MTCC will recruit workers based on the projects it has under way.

“We will hire employees based on the projects at hand. We will also hire them on a temporary basis,” he said.
