National airline, Maldivian, has introduced a new suite of services named "Maldivian JourneyPlus."
Island Aviation, the operator of Maldivian, stated that the new services were introduced to provide passengers with additional options when accessing services.
With the JourneyPlus service, passengers will receive more flexible services than before. Island Aviation said that five key services are currently available under the first phase of this offering.
JourneyPlus Phase 1 Services:
- JourneyPlus Priority: Under this service, customers will receive priority check-in and baggage handling services. International customers will also receive priority boarding service.
- JourneyPlus Bags: Through this service, passengers requiring extra baggage allowance will be able to purchase additional baggage.
- JourneyPlus Relax: Under this service, customers can access services at Maldivian's lounges.
- JourneyPlus Upgrade: Through this service, international passengers will have the opportunity to upgrade their tickets.
- JourneyPlus Bites: Through this service, passengers can pre-order food they wish to consume during their flight.
Managing Director of Maldivian, Ibrahim Iyas, stated that with Maldivian JourneyPlus, passengers will easily receive many services they had previously been requesting. He also mentioned that passengers will receive more personalized services than before.
Passengers wishing to purchase Maldivian's JourneyPlus services can do so through the call center, Viber, WhatsApp, ticketing offices, and passenger sales agents.
As Maldivian launches Phase 1 of the JourneyPlus service, Island Aviation noted that JourneyPlus Phase 2 will be introduced with further services. The airline also stated that during the second phase, passengers will have the opportunity to pre-select their desired seats.
In addition to international and domestic flights, Maldivian also operates seaplane flights. Among these, the airline's largest market share remains in domestic travel.
