Bank of Maldives has announced that the 42nd Annual General Meeting and Conference of the Asian Bankers Association (ABA) will be held in the Maldives.

BML said that the conference will be held from September 1 to 3 at Kurumba Maldives.

CEOs and Senior Executives of banks in ABA member countries and international financial experts will be attending the conference. The main objective of the conference is for banking and financial leaders to convene and deliberate on challenges in the financial sector, explore new opportunities and discuss the future of finance.

This is the second time that an ABA conference is being held in the Maldives. BML previously hosted the conference in 2018.

BML said that receiving the honour of hosting the conference in Maldives again is testament to the trust and confidence in the bank, as well as its strong leadership.

BML being the host nation for the conference was officially announced at the ABA's 41st conference held in Bhutan last year. That year, BML CEO and Managing Director Mohamed Shareef was also appointed Vice Chairman of the association.

Registration for the 42nd ABA Conference is now open.
