The DusitD2 Maldives resort has classified their "Feydhoo Hall" as a venue specifically for local events and wedding parties.
The resort's "Feydhoo Hall" was made specifically for special events.
A member of DusitD2's senior leadership stated the hall area has the capacity to host more than 750 people for events. The inner hall can host events with up to 350 people, while the outer open door area can host special events with up to 400 people.
The Feydhoo Hall of DusitD2, managed by the popular hotel brand from Thailand Dusit International, can hold meetings, conferences, special ceremonies, wedding ceremonies and events for foreign parties.
DusitD2's General Manager Yogeswaran Veerasamy said the Feydhoo Hall has been made accessible for local events in order to host events at a different environment.
The venue is capable of providing all of the required resources to conveniently host events. As there is an indoor and outdoor area, Veerasamy said it is an opportunity for events to be held close to Male' in a pleasant environment.
The area near the hall has a jetty, making it easier to make arrangements for disembarking goods directly to the venue.
Veerasamy went on to say that as Maldives is a nation known for tourism, those who travel for Meetings, Incentives, Conference and Exhibition (MICE) tourism can also make use of this opportunity. He said the resort's aim is to make use of the segment and facilitate opportunities for local events.
Many major local and international events have been carried out at DusitD2 in a short amount of time.
In the one year DusitD2 has been operational, the resort has been booked in its entirety for an Indian wedding ceremony. That was the first time a Maldivian resort has been completely booked for an event.
DusitD2 has come up with specific packages for events. Wedding package rates stand between USD 45 and USD 100 per head, with hall area prices being determined along with catering.
The rates for birthday parties and family ceremonies go between USD 60 and USD 95 per head. The resort has special packages for gala nights and cocktail events.
DusitD2 can be reached in 5 to 7 minutes from Velana International Airport, with a special segment being introduced for MICE tourism by them, resulting in many important events being held in recent times. This includes office ceremonies and wedding ceremonies.
