The "Maldives Visitor Survey" has shown that 65 percent of tourists who come to Maldives travel with their partner.
According to the survey, 77 percent of the tourists from the United Kingdom (UK) who took part in the survey came to Maldives with their partner. 75 percent of the tourists from the United States of America (USA) came to Maldives with their partner, with 74 percent of the tourists from the United States of America (USA) coming to Maldives with their partner.
71 percent of tourists from Switzerland and India who came to Maldives for their vacation traveled with their partner.
Of the tourists who took part in the survey, more than 50 percent of tourists from China, Russia, Italy, France and Spain came to Maldives with their partner.
As per the survey, 73 percent of tourists who travel to Maldives with their partner went to resorts. 44 percent of tourists who traveled to Maldives with their partner spent their vacation at guesthouses. 19 percent of tourists were solo travelers, with 12 percent of tourists coming to Maldives as small groups of friends.
68 percent of the tourists who came to Maldives with their partner were first-time travelers to Maldives, and 57 percent of tourists had traveled between two to five times to Maldives. Of these tourists, 59 percent of them had already come to Maldives between six to ten times, with 48 percent of tourists having come to Maldives more than 10 times.
The survey shows 12 percent of tourists who travel to Maldives come with their families, with most families traveling with their children. 13 percent of tourists who travel to Maldives come with their friends, and 8 percent of tourists are solo travelers.
The Maldives Visitor Survey identifies the percentage of tourists traveling to Maldives, clarifies how tourists feel about Maldives and gets feedback from them. The survey is conducted by the Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation.
