Alia, in collaboration with the Maldives Institute of Technology (MIT), has completed the 12th Boat Operators Training Programme.

A total of 47 participants took part in the programme, which was held from Tuesday to Thursday last week. The participants included captains from resorts, marine transport operators and government agencies.

Alia conducts the annual programme in partnership with MIT, offering specialized training in the theory and practical skills required to safely operate vessels powered by outboard engines.

The programme also covered fire safety, emergency response and first aid. Participants received training on the safe operation and maintenance of Yamaha outboard engines, including procedures for restoring engine operation in the event of a breakdown at sea.

The programme combined classroom instruction with practical sessions and forms part of Alia's efforts to promote maritime safety in Maldives.

Alia is the authorized distributor of Yamaha outboard engines in the Maldives and regularly conducts similar training programmes in collaboration with Yamaha.
