Dollar revenue in the first six months of 2026 has reached USD 868 million.

Statistics from Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA) show that dollar revenue in this period has increased by 10 percent compared to the same period last year.

Of this, USD 667 million was received as taxes, and USD 200 million through other fees.

The increase in dollar revenue is credited to the rise in amounts received as TGST, Tourism Land Rent and Green Tax.

Of the tax revenue, 66 percent was through TGST, amounting to USD 431 million. Last year, the figure stood at USD 399 million, hence indicating an 8 percent increase this year.

USD 73 million was received as Tourism Land Rent, and USD 70 million as Airport Development Fee. Meanwhile, USD 69 million was received as Departure Tax, and USD 79 million as Green Tax. All of these also showed an increase compared to the previous year.
