Maldivian has increased the number of its domestic flights to coincide with the upcoming school holidays.
Maldivian stated that from the 10th of next month until the 4th of August, an additional 320 domestic flights will be operated, adding 18,000 seats for passengers to travel.
During this period, the airline has scheduled 2,000 domestic flights. This represents a capacity of 110,000 seats. Consequently, with the addition of these domestic flights, Maldivian's capacity has been increased by 17 percent.
Maldivian noted that to increase travel options during the school break, Maldivian's Airbus A320 aircraft will operate flights to Addu Gan International Airport and Hanimaadhoo International Airport.
Mohamed Iyad, Managing Director of Island Aviation Services, which operates Maldivian, stated that the airline's domestic operations form an important network connecting the islands of the Maldives. He also noted that the demand for the airline's flights typically surges during the school holiday season.
He added that he hopes the additional flights will bring great convenience to those wishing to travel across different regions of the Maldives.
The fleet of Maldivian airline comprises 26 aircraft. This includes five ATR aircraft, an A330 aircraft, an Airbus A320, eight Dash-series aircraft, and 11 seaplanes.
